Legislative Council Environment and Planning Committee

The 59th Parliament expired on 1 November 2022. A general election will be held on 26 November 2022. All Committees of the 59th Parliament ceased to exist on 1 November 2022, and any incomplete inquiries lapsed from that date. New Committees will be established in the 60th Parliament.

The functions of the Environment and Planning Committee are to inquire into and report on any proposal, matter or thing concerned with the arts, environment and planning the use, development and protection of land.

Government Departments allocated for oversight:

The Committee examines:       

  • Any Bills or draft Bills referred by the Legislative Council
  • Annual reports
  • Estimates of expenditure
  • Other documents laid before the Legislative Council in accordance with an Act, provided these are relevant to its functions
