Drafting Report

The Committee will investigate how road safety behaviours have changed during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and consider the impact these changes have had on vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, cyclists, motorcycle riders, children 7 and under, older people and mobility device users.

The Committee’s final report for this Inquiry will be tabled the week of 29 April 2024, which is the first Parliamentary sitting week after the report due date of 31 March 2024. 


On 9 March 2023, the Legislative Assembly agreed to the following motion: 

That this House refers an inquiry into changes to road safety behaviours during and post the COVID-19 pandemic and impacts on vulnerable road users to the Economy and Infrastructure Standing Committee for consideration and report no later than 31 March 2024.
