Mr Stuart Grimley

Stuart Grimley

Meet Stuart

Before entering Parliament, Stuart worked as a Detective at the Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit and at the Footscray Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team. Before joining the police force, he was a schoolteacher in Western Australia.

Stuart says that he saw a distinct lack of justice in our court processes. He wants to use his skills and knowledge to push for change and better outcomes for those seeking justice. This is what prompted him to run for Parliament.

The priorities Stuart has for his community are to ensure victims of crime get appropriate assistance, holding perpetrators to account for their actions, ensuring the protection of our most vulnerable community members (especially children), as well as advocating for stronger mental health support for our emergency service workers.

Stuart’s vision for Victoria’s future is that our most vulnerable are protected and supported, victims of crime get the justice they deserve and sentencing reflects the community’s values.

The areas of public policy that he is most passionate about are child protection, mental health of emergency service workers, support for victim-survivors, and reform in bail, parole and sentencing.
