New King proclaimed

12 September 2022

A ceremony has been held at Government House in Melbourne for the Proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III.

The Victorian ceremony followed the official Proclamation at St James’s Palace in London on Saturday 10 September 2022 and the Australian national ceremony in Canberra on Sunday 11 September.

In Victoria the Proclamation was signed by the Governor of Victoria, the Premier, Acting Chief Justice and the Presiding Officers of the Victorian Parliament, before being read out by the Governor.
