The Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards has been elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

Ms Edwards had been Deputy Speaker since March 2017. She takes over as Speaker from Colin Brooks, the Member for Bundoora, who recently became a government minister.

The Member for St Albans Natalie Suleyman has been elected Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

Ms Suleyman had been Chair of the Legislative Assembly Legal and Social Issues Committee since March 2019.
