When will Sabah and his family be moved out of transitional housing and into permanent housing? Sabah has been living in transitional housing for 10 years. Sabah, his wife and their three sons, who are two, eight and 10 years old, live in a two-bedroom unit in Yarraville—five people living in a two-bedroom unit. He has been in contact constantly over the years with the department of housing. The department has advised him that there is currently no avenue for him to be moved out of his current situation into suitable public housing. Ten years in transitional housing is not acceptable. Something has to be done now for Sabah and his family in Yarraville.
