City of Boroondara Australia Day awards
Jess WILSON (Kew) (13:05): I had the honour of speaking at Boroondara’s Australia Day ceremony. In addition to welcoming more than 150 new Australian citizens we recognised those who give back to our community. Congratulations to Kew residents Mike and Ben Zhou, who were jointly awarded Boroondara’s Young Citizen of the Year. At six and eight years old Mike and Ben began busking for charity. For 13 years Mike and Ben and their young friends from local schools have played Christmas carols, donating over $20,000 to international and local charities.
